Allergy Program
According to the World Allergy Organization (WAO), “Allergic diseases and asthma are increasing worldwide, particularly in low and middle income countries. In addition, the complexity and severity of allergic disorders, including asthma, continue to increase especially in children and young adults, who are bearing the greatest burden of these trends. This upsurge in the prevalence of allergies is observed as societies become more affluent and urbanized. An increase in environmental risk factors like outdoor and indoor pollution combined with reduced biodiversity also contributes to this rise in prevalence. Yet allergy, even as it relates to asthma, is often trivialized and clinical services to help patients with such diseases are either non-existent or limited and lacking in cost-effective solutions.” http://www.worldallergy.org
“Allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT), or allergen vaccination is the practice of administering to allergic subjects increasing amounts of allergen(s) (the allergenic extract or vaccine) to achieve hypersensitization, that is to reduce the symptoms occurring during the natural exposure to the allergen(s) itself. The history of SIT began in the first years of the twentieth century, based on the idea of the vaccination against infectious agents. In fact, Leonard Noon1 aimed at achieving a vaccination against “airborne toxins,” and for this reason he chose the subcutaneous route of administration. Allergy Symptoms
Allergies can cause a lot of symptoms which include but not limited to the following:

RHMC’s weight loss program incorporates physician-monitored safe and effective personalized weight loss plans. Dr. Egbuchunam currently successfully incorporates obesity management into her primary care practice in the prevention and management of related chronic diseases with amazing results..
We have been in the weight loss business for more than ten years and have done this successfully over and over again for our patients. The key is that each patient is different and therefore weight loss plans have to be customized and tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Medications and supplements have to be carefully chosen to work for each patient in their unique circumstances to achieve maximum success. There is no “one size fits all” regimen in this program. Also goals vary for every individual. Satisfaction is measured by the goal the patient wants to achieve. We are not in the business of telling you how you should look or making you feel bad or guilty about your weight. We are not judgmental because no-one is perfect. We also understand that a lot of times obesity is about your genes not about how much you eat or your lack of care for yourself. We are in the business of providing compassionate care and helping you work towards your goal and get there with gentle coaching. We play the role of the coach and cheerleader for you. We teach you successful lifestyle changes that will help you win the battle and keep the weight away; and where medication is needed we help you to choose the most effective and safe medications or supplements that work for your situation.
More about the program
The most important thing is that the program is very affordable. In most cases if you have health insurance and meet criteria determined by your insurance for weight loss, then your insurance covers the program. If you do not have health insurance or your insurance does not cover the weight loss program, then you can be a self-pay patient. The program is extremely affordable because we care about you and want everyone to be able to afford the program and take their lives back from the brink of being overweight, obese or morbidly obese.
When you sign up for the program, every during every visit, you will consult with the physician or nurse practitioner. You will get a “report card” (called the body composition analysis or BCA for short) which we go over with you and we will give you needed encouragement as well as redirection where needed and get your prescription(s) refilled also as needed. The BCA explains to you how much fat, muscle, water etc. you have and where the weight loss is coming off from (hopefully the fat and not the muscle which is our goal), tells you what your customized goal or target weight should be and how much exercise you should do daily to get there.
